CJ Critt, an Audie Nominee and one of AudioFile Magazine’s, Best Voices of 2008, is known to many audio book fans, as the Voice of America’s favorite bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, and has brought to life the work of Anne Tyler, Larry McMurtry, Patricia Cornwell, Margaret Maron, Haven Kimmel, Joan Hess, and Barbara Kingsolver, among many others, in 160 works of Popular Fiction for Harper Audio, Recorded Books, and BBC America, garnering a dozen EARPHONES awards and fans nationwide. This experience has left ideally suited to lead her workshop, Narrate Like a Pro, launching new careers in audio narration. and offer one on one narration coaching.

Her recent film appearance in the comic short, LUBE JOB, and featured role in Occupy Texas will be seen in festivals and at select theaters nationwide.


A former staff writer for Disney Radio, she created hundreds of commercial scripts and celebrated the on-air features: We The Peeps! (Election language demystified for kids) House Of Friends (Good manners for toddler set) & Theater of the B-Zarre.


Critt is the author of YA novel, EggSTory, the pod cast, DAMPA MIC DROP and is the host of the WRITE STUFF - a creative writing and performance workshop where everyone becomes an instant author.


On stage, she performs across the country, with favorite excerpts from her audio-book repertoire, in her live program, TALES FROM THE CRITT. Her inspired, solo show, BY RAIL was developed with the Terra Nova Collective in NYC and debuted at PS 122 on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.


Once a “Ring-Around-the-Collar Mom,” doing scores of network television commercials, in New York City, CJ is a veteran of Broadway with Mario Van Peebles in Waltz of the Stork, Off Broadway in the Equity Library hits, Plain and Fancy and Promises, Promises.  She has written original material for Stand-up and the spoken word gauntlet - known as the Poetry Slam.


Critt won a Cable Ace Award for writing, producing and hosting the TV pilot, Words Aloud! She is the creator and director of THE ANGRY GIRL SEXTET, a live performance a cappella, all chick cocktail of liquid language.


Her original works, Suicide at 8 and Smoking Lips debuted at Dallas’ Big D Festival. CJ’s Cursed With Bigness, played on Theater Row in NYC, Arts & Letters Live in North Texas, and was presented at the Dallas Theater Center.


An honors graduate and speech instructor at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, CJ was an adjunct professor at NJCU, and Dallas Academy of Music and Performing Arts. Her short film, ANATOMOY AN EVICTION, screened multiple times in NYC, & can be seen on YouTube or CJ’s website – cjcritt.com.


CJ’s completed screenplays, The Pollinators, Sigma Delta Die and MASTER STROKE are ready for production. The original musical, Elsie Janis and the Boys, produced at the Rotunda Theater in Dallas and Contemporary Theatre of Dallas celebrating the “Bob Hope of WWI,” awaits further productions. Her new musical, The World of Georgia Dill resented debuted at the Bathhouse Cultural Center in the Echo Reads Series. She’s writing lyrics for Muscle Bound Cowboys of Snake Pit Gulch with NYC collaborators Frank Schiro and Andy Halliday.
