What is S.T.A.G.E.?

S.T.A.G.E. (Society for Theatrical Artists Guidance & Enhancement) is DFW’s premier performing artists’ organization. S.T.A.G.E. promotes the theatrical, broadcast, and film industries, serving as an informational clearinghouse, providing training and education in many facets of the entertainment industry, and providing meeting space and studio rentals in the North Central Texas Region.

How was S.T.A.G.E. formed?

In 1980, Leslie Evans-Leach approached philanthropist P.L. Moore with the idea of an organization that would serve as a source of information to for area theatrical artists.  This idea was the result of frustration  shared by local performers who frequently learned of auditions AFTER they had occurred.  Leslie and PL expanded their collaboration to include a small group of local performers, and in 1981, the Society For Theatrical Artists’ Guidance & Enhancement was formed.  With Leslie Evans-Leach as Executive Director, Janice L. Franklin as Managing Director, and P.L. Moore as President of the Board of Directors, S.T.A.G.E. opened its doors in an office building adjacent to the Esquire Theater at the intersection of Oaklawn and Lemmon Avenue in Dallas, Texas.

What are S.T.A.G.E.’s primary goals?
